Our Non-discrimination Policy
The Blackwell Files, LLC (“The Blackwell Files”) is committed to the principle of providing real, everyday people with the
opportunity to work in the entertainment industry. The Blackwell Files is also committed to the principle of equal opportunity.
When providing casting services to our clients, we do not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, color, sex,
sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, veteran status, ancestry, or national or ethnic origin. Applications
to be cast are accepted without regard to race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, veteran
status, ancestry, or national or ethnic origin.
As with all entertainment productions, our clients often times have specific requests for talent who resemble a certain race,
gender, etc. Our clients are exclusively responsible for making said requests as they are essential to the nature of the
production.* The Blackwell Files does not assist or direct our clients when deciding the criteria to be used to cast any particular
talent for any particular production. This decision is exclusively that of our client. Further, The Blackwell files does not support
or further the use of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age, veteran status, ancestry, or
national or ethnic origin by any of our clients merely as a pretext to achieve discriminatory purposes. This statement of The
Blackwell Files’ nondiscrimination policy must be used in its entirety whenever it is cited or reproduced.
* Various laws allow for the use of race, gender, etc. in employment practices, including but not limited to 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-
2(e)(1), which states: “it shall not be an unlawful employment practice for an . . . employment agency to classify, or refer for
employment any individual, . . . on the basis of his religion, sex, or national origin in those certain instances where religion,
sex, or national origin is a bona fide occupational qualification reasonably necessary to the normal operation of that particular
business or enterprise.”
